Conference Awards and Winners

The Organizers of BioInfoMed’2026 would like to thank all conference participants for their inspiring oral and poster presentations, active engagement, and valuable contributions. To make the conference an even more rewarding and memorable experience, we were pleased to allocate resources for awards recognizing excellence in three categories: Best Poster Presentation, Best Oral Presentation, and Best Young Scientist.

During the Closing Ceremony on 12 September 2026, the following winners were announced by the General Chair, Prof. Tania Pencheva:

Best Poster Presentation Award presented to:

• Zlatko Kirovakov, MD for the Best Poster Presentation of the research titled “Thyroid Dysfunction and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss: A Retrospective Case-Control Study” co-authored by Zlatko Kirovakov, Evdokia Sotirova, Nikolay Kostadinov.

  

• Vesela Yordanova for the Best Poster Presentation of the research titled “Petasin Alters Lipid Order and Dipole Potential without Disrupting Bilayer Integrity of Biomimetic Mast Cell Membranes” co-authored by Vesela Yordanova, Ralitsa Angelova, Dayana Benkova, Aleksandrina Nesheva, Albena Momchilova, Rusina Hazarosova, Galya Staneva.

  

Best Oral Presentation Award presented to:

• Veselina Bureva for the Best Oral Presentation of the research titled “Sequence Search and Matching Algorithms Inspired by Seed Strategies and Frequency-Guided Progressive Filtering ” co-authored by Veselina Bureva and Krassimir Atanassov.

  

• Milka Atanasova for the Best Oral Presentation of the research titled “Rapid Detection of Mycotoxins and Foodborne Pathogens: Advances in Immunoassays and Nanoparticle-Based Analytical Methods ” co-authored by Katya Gabrovska, Milka Atanasova, Mihaela Lukova.

  

Best Young Scientist Award presented to:

• Aleksandrina Nesheva for the presentation of the research titled “Effects of Selected Thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine Derivatives on Breast Cancer Cell Proliferation and Membrane Organization” co-authored by Aleksandrina Nesheva, Ivan Iliev, Anelia Mavrova, Denitsa Yancheva, Aneliya Kostadinova, Severina Semkova, Albena Momchilova, Iana Tsoneva, Biliana Nikolova, Galya Staneva.
